Central Asia Small Projects Programme

This programme will provide the mechanism for embassies to develop small projects to further the aims of the Country Business Plans and develop learning to support wider programming initiatives, with the overall aim of supporting development in the region.
Unlocking Change: Supporting reform in key Albanian institutions

The new programme will support reform in Albania on justice, rule of law and anti-corruption to boost accountability and enable better delivery of services to citizens. This will include: i) reform of the Albanian State Police aiming to modernise the institution, improve its leadership and performance, and make it more accountable and transparent; ii) improving revenue collection by the Albanian authorities and contributing to transparency of public finance management; iii) increasing the capacity of judges and prosecutors to become more effective in handling court cases, including through study visits, exchanges and training at the School of Magistrates.
Strengthening process for Citizenship By Investment in the Eastern Caribbean

Strengthening risk management processes by which applications are reviewed and understanding of the wider global industry within Eastern Caribbean Citizenship by Investment programmes in order to reduce security risk to the countries running the programmes, to maximise revenues deriving from the programmes and protect against a sudden drop from UK and EU visa imposition and, by doing so, to protect the UK against national security risk.
Indo-Pacific Regional Governance Programme

The Indo-Pacific Governance Programme will support the foundations on which FCDO can deliver the UK objectives in the Indo-Pacific by establishing partnerships for ‘progressive governance’ that enable broader UK priorities in the region. Support will be based on a combination of a) strategic programming b) deep context analysis and learning, and c) increased capacity to deliver advice and support to governance actors in the region. The programme will build on a base of successful projects and will test a long-term approach for strategic engagement on governance in the region.
Security and Stabilisation Programme

This programme will increase UK effectiveness in preventing or reducing conflict through the application of stabilisation and security sector reform (SSR) best practice. This includes developing international expertise on state reconstruction in conflict-affected countries. We will develop and advocate for the UK’s governance and human rights-centred approach on stabilisation, SSR, disarmament, demobilisation and reintegration (DDR), sharing our outputs with the international community for the benefit of those living in conflict-affected countries. We will update the UK Guide to Stabilisation, which provides thought leadership and practical advice for the international community. Our priority countries benefiting from this work will be ODA recipients. The Programme will support our Integrated Review objectives of reducing the frequency and intensity of conflict and instability and minimising opportunities for state and non-state actors to undermine international security.
Conflict Resolution Department (CRD) Conflict Resolution Programme

The programme primarily funds key mediation organisations delivering against the UK’s negotiation, mediation and peace process ambitions, specifically on bringing about negotiated political settlements that govern and end violence and refocusing peace processes as a central tool for conflict resolution, working with a range of national and international partners.

Partnerships for Development

Partnerships for Development (formerly known as GREAT for Partnership) will multiply the UK’s development impact by boosting partnerships between UK’s institutions and their counterparts in the developing world. It will leverage the skills and expertise from a range of UK institutions and supply them initially to DFID partner countries, based on tailored demand. It will initially prioritise the Extractives, Financial Accountability and Anti-Corruption sectors.
National Governance Programme

The National Governance Programme aims to support Pakistan’s national level institutional reforms agenda through this programme. The programme will take a whole-of-government approach to addressing coordination deficits between levels of government in Pakistan. This means providing technical assistance to the Prime Minister’s Office to focus political leadership on prioritised policy areas; ensuring decisions are evidence-based and are supported by effective monitoring frameworks and feedback loops, supporting collective problem through support to coordination bodies like the Council of Common Interest, and working on policy issues such as climate change or social protection where there is appetite for coordination and reform.
Support to the Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance (DCAF)

To deliver effective security and justice interventions through the Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance (DCAF) Team by providing guidance to help bilateral donors and multilateral organisations deliver effective and politically-informed security and justice responses based on lessons from the field and the evidence base. Also to improve the co-ordination and technical support between donors and their engagement with multilateral organisations in the security and justice sector.
Tackling Serious and Organised Crime in Ghana (SOCG)

This programme will seek to reduce the negative impact that SOC has on Ghana’s development, by improving governance and raising awareness, commitment and capacity to address it within government, civil society and business. In doing so, it will address direct threats to the UK, and support wider UK security objectives.

This programme supports the development of efficient, resilient, and inclusive transport infrastructure in Tanzania, focusing on the central trade corridor. Activities include upgrading the Port of Dar es Salaam, strengthening public-private partnership capacity, and embedding safeguarding standards for vulnerable transport users. The project promotes economic growth, trade, and welfare, aligning with ODA’s core objective of supporting sustainable development in a partner country.
Security and Justice Programme 2

Security and Justice Programme (SJP) ultimately aims to help to enhance public safety in Nepal and improve people’s trust in a key institution: the police. It will contribute to increased responsiveness of security and justice providers, particularly gender-based violence (GBV) and increased prevention of GBV and wider public safety problems. Understanding and influencing different social and organisational norms will run through the whole programme to address the prevalence of violence against women and girls. The programme also has a particular focus on the organisational development of the Nepal Police, investigation capability, problem-solving community policing and better climate-resilient solar-powered infrastructure for service delivery, notably police women and children service centres (WCSCs).

To protect civic space, foster political collaboration, reduce corruption, and mitigate conflict and violence in Bangladesh, the Bangladesh- Collaborative, Accountable and Peaceful Politics programme will mobilise civil society and media coalitions, provide citizens groups with tools to monitor public services, improve decision making within political parties and promote women and youth leadership.
