Empowering Youth and Women in the Seamoss Industry
Description
The project aims to strengthen the economic inclusion, skills development, and leadership capacity of youth and women within Saint Lucia’s growing seamoss sector. Through targeted training, mentorship, enterprise innovation, and infrastructure support, the project seeks to unlock new livelihood opportunities and foster equitable participation in the blue economy. This project aims to address current gender and generational gaps in the seamoss value chain by equipping women and young people—especially those in rural and coastal communities—with the tools, confidence, and networks needed to innovate, add value, and access local and international markets.
