Description

The International Advisory Panel on Biodiversity Credits (IAPB) is an independent, global initiative, co-launched by the UK and France in June 2023, to help shape and scale the development of high integrity biodiversity credit markets that support conservation, climate, and equity. IAPB’s mission is to develop a high integrity biodiversity credit market, including market guidance, a Community of Practice (now with over 40 pilot projects across nearly 30 countries), and a Policy Lab to help governments build enabling regulatory frameworks.  Through our support to IAPB we seek to build international capacity through policy and regulatory support, further develop critical market infrastructure, and create a robust knowledge base informed by on-the-ground pilot projects. Investing in IAPB will mobilise and scale long-term funding towards protecting, restoring and expanding biodiversity whilst supporting gender-inclusive interventions and poverty alleviation.
