Yemen Economic Stabilisation Programme
Description
he Yemen Economic Stabilisation (YES) Programme strengthens the Government of Yemen’s (GoY) capability to deliver essential, inclusive services by addressing core drivers of economic instability through targeted, politically informed technical assistance. Through a politically oriented and conflict sensitive approach, YES supports reforms in public financial management, monetary stability, electricity sector, and the financial sector, while creating conditions for private-sector investment and job creation. By stabilising essential GoY economic governance, the programme over time enhances the government’s credibility and legitimacy, maintaining a pathway to a political process, and reduces humanitarian needs. Beneficiaries include Yemeni citizens (particularly in GoY-controlled areas) and vulnerable households, as well as core economic institutions such as the Central Bank, Ministry of Finance, and energy authorities.
