African Union Partnership Programme (AUP)
Description
AUP will work to strengthen the African Union's capacity in four areas: Governance and security, Climate and Nature, Economic growth and transformation, and Migration. Underpinning these strands will be a cross-cutting theme of Partnership, with core funding to the AU through the multi-donor Joint Funding Agreement and the secondment of African experts to fill key resource gaps holding back achievement of shared UK-AU objectives. AUP will deliver on the UK-AU shared objective of inclusive and sustainable development in Africa through reduced conflict, credible elections, green investment, increased domestic revenue and progress on addressing illicit migration.
