IATI Identifier: GB-GOV-1-400400

Description

MENTARI 2 (Menuju Transisi Energi Rendah Karbon di Indonesia / Towards Indonesia’s Low Carbon Energy Transition) builds on the success and lessons learned from the first MENTARI programme to support Indonesia’s energy transition, while factoring in inclusive economic growth and poverty reduction in the approach. Its specific objectives include: 1. Improving Indonesian policies and regulations to increase investment into the low carbon energy sector 2. Increasing rural electrification to promote economic development, particularly for disadvantaged groups 3. Supporting Indonesian institutions identify and finance low carbon energy projects 4. Building energy transition expertise within Indonesian institutions (e.g. NGOs, academia, and government). Gender and inclusivity will be mainstreamed throughout delivery.
