Science for Emergencies Centre of Expertise (SECE)

IATI Identifier: GB-GOV-1-400163

Description

The Science for Emergencies Centre of Expertise (SECE) will strengthen FCDO’s access to science, evidence and expertise in the immediate response to rapid onset emergencies and emerging priorities. This will improve FCDO’s ability to prepare for and respond to such emergencies, mitigating their impact. SECE will ensure FCDO’s response to rapid-onset crises and emerging priorities is based on sound scientific knowledge, evidence and expertise, and enable this evidence and expertise to be shared with all those responding. It will have particular benefits for LMICs, where it will reduce suffering and promote welfare in regions most affected by crises.
