Objectives
This project aims to improve access to justice in Ukraine by strengthening institutional capacities of judicial administration bodies.
Description
1) To advance accountability-driven organizational change of Ukrainian judicial administration. 2) To improve knowledge of international standards applicable to judicial governance and inclusion among Ukraine’s judicial administration. 3) To institutionalize transparent appointment and sanctioning of judges. 4) To resolve the backlog in judicial appointments in line with ethical and merit-based standards. 5) To support digital transformation of Ukraine’s Judiciary. 6) To facilitate the open and merit-based selection of High Council of Justice (HCJ) disciplinary inspectors.
Target Groups
Direct beneficiaries: High Council of Justice (HCJ), HCJ Service of Disciplinary Inspectors, High Qualification Commission of Judges (HQCJ), Public Integrity Council (PIC), State Judicial Administration (SJA). Indirect beneficiaries: Judiciary and the Ukrainian public at large.
