Scoping and implementation of the knowledge-management platform for the Climate Adaptation and Resilience initiative
Project disclaimer
Description
The Climate Adaptation and Resilience (CLARE) initiative, a five-year CAD120-million initiative jointly developed and funded by the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office and IDRC, supports research to enable socially inclusive and sustainable action to build resilience to climate change and natural hazards across Africa and the Asia-Pacific region. Given the scale and urgency required, in addition to generating research, significant emphasis is placed on getting knowledge and evidence into use. CLARE will deliver strengthened agency in the Global South to carry out and use research for adaptation action, particularly for the most vulnerable populations. The initiative funds research projects under the themes of understanding climate risk, risk-informed early action and development in a changing climate. CLARE also provides support for synthesis, capacity strengthening and a knowledge management platform to serve the entire portfolio. This project will support development of that platform to enable collection of monitoring data from the CLARE research projects, support peer learning and collaboration amongst projects and diverse teams, and facilitate hosting and sharing of information about CLARE to external audiences active in climate adaptation.
