Description

In the current context of displacement in the Cabo Delgado province, missing civil documentation and especially legal identity is a key factor of protection risks for affected populations. Through this project, NRC aims to bridge the gap and support IDPs in securing essential documentation such as birth certificates and national ID cards (which can only be secured with a birth certificate) through its flagship Information, Counselling and Legal Assistance programme. In order to ensure access to hard-to-reach locations and increase the reach of its work, NRC is operating through mobile legal clinics and is working closely with local authorities.
