Description
Managing Defence in the Wider Security Context (MDWSC) is a course delivered to personnel from the Defence & Security sector, enhancing your knowledge of your national defence and security systems enhancing your analytical skills to help improve and transform governance and management assessing your national security within the international context evaluating current challenges to state sovereignty gaining a better appreciation of the critical importance of effective governance in defence assessing how defence is managed and how changes can be introduced effectively.
Objectives
It is particularly relevant to countries making the transition from authoritarian rule to democracy, or emerging from conflict, and seeks to reinforce good practice in relation to civilian oversight and control of the armed forces, focusing on issues including democratic control and civilian oversight, transparency, corruption and the rule of law. .
