The Blue Belt Programme works across three core pillars; Nature, Climate and People, and is open to all UKOTs to join. It will mark it’s 10 year anniversary in 2026 The overarching objective of the Polar Regions Department is to promote secure, stable and sustainably managed Polar Regions that protect UK sovereignty; meet UK obligations under international Treaty commitments; respond to the challenges of climate change and geostrategic competition and support UK security, growth and climate objectives of the Plan for Change.
