Support for the deployment of Caribbean surge response teams or first responders in an emergency.
Description
To provide financial assistance to the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency for deployment of their surge response teams or first responders in an emergency from 2018-2025. The surge teams assist national disaster offices with humanitarian operations and can be in position within 48 hours of an event. It covers the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency's 19 Participating States during the immediate humanitarian response effort for a period of up to three months. Approval for release of funds to the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency will be through UK FCDO Caribbean for independent Official Development Assistance (ODA) eligible states and Humanitarian Response Group for other Caribbean states significantly impacted by hazards.
