Description

The GSMA Mobile for Humanitarian Innovation (M4H) programme marks an evolution and expansion of the GSMA’s disaster response work. The M4H Fund, managed by Tetra Tech International Development, provides funding for projects that use mobile technology to assist and empower individuals or communities affected by humanitarian emergencies, or to strengthen prevention, preparedness and response in disaster contexts. M4H approaches the following five thematic areas – Mobile-enabled utilities, Food security and climate change, Digital identity, Gender and inclusivity, Mobile financial services – collectively, recognising their equal importance and interdependence in building a digital ecosystem for humanitarian contexts. Core to this is the role of effective partnerships – particularly between humanitarian organisations and MNOs.
