Description

Gondwana is a EUR 50m Nature-based Solutions (NbS) platform managed by Hummingbirds, a Paris-based, female-led carbon project developer with a growing presence across emerging markets and an extensive pipeline of high-integrity NbS projects. The EUR 50m Gondwana platform will be Hummingbirds’ first dedicated investment vehicle. Gondwana will scale a diversified portfolio of afforestation, reforestation and revegetation (ARR), mangrove restoration, REDD+ and improved cookstove projects across Africa, Asia and Latin America. The platform will deploy equity into 8-10 large-scale, long-term carbon projects. BII is anchoring the platform alongside Proparco and Swedfund, each committing EUR 15m, with Hummingbirds contributing EUR 5m to ensure strong alignment.
