Project disclaimer
Description
Over 3 years, 55,000 children (0-4 years) in Garissa and Kwale Counties in Kenya will be screened for sensory impairments, with 124 children with complex impairments having improved growth and developmental outcomes. This will be made possible by the following interlinked outputs: 1) Strengthened capacity of community health systems in 4 sub-counties and 40 health facilities; 2) Sensory screening using a 2-step screening process at community and health facility levels; 3) Children with complex disabilities receiving high quality early intervention services. 4) County Governments of Garissa and Kwale have improved understanding of and develop action plans to adopt and sustain the screening and EI model.
