Prevention of Violence against Women and Girls: Research and Innovation Fund
Description
To deliver ground-breaking evidence of “what works” to prevent and respond to violence against women and girls in developing countries, including in conflict and humanitarian emergencies. This evidence will improve policies, programming and expand investment to reduce the prevalence of VAWG and increase the number of women and girls receiving quality response services in at least ten DFID priority countries. This will contribute to other UK priorities including the Foreign Secretary’s Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative, implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 (Women, Peace and Security) and the UK’s Building Stability Overseas Strategy, and will inform other donors’ policies and operations and underpin international standards and targets, including achievement of the dedicated VAWG targets in the Global Goals.
