Zimbabwe Business Enabling Environment Programme (BEEP)

Description

To improve the business environment in Zimbabwe by providing the private sector with 1) increased access to finance by engaging in financial infrastructure support 2) capacity development for micro and small enterprises using a value chain approach 3) improved regulation of the PPP sector by supporting public-private-partnerships and 4) a more vibrant public private dialogue process. This will benefit the Zimbabwean private sector overall by improving the business environment and investment climate. This contributes towards our MDGs by stimulating economic growth and will result in 1) business advocacy support in the completion of at least 4 dialogue sessions (resulting in an additional 2 new /amended laws or regulations in Zimbabwe); 2)the arrangement of a cumulative $2.5m worth of financing for Zimbabwean SMME’s; and 3)ensure that the business climate reforms that are undertaken as a part of the BEEP are sustainable by building the capacity of key public and private stakeholders.
