AT2030 - Cluster 3: Country Implementation
Global Disability Innovation Hub
This cluster has several elements. Firstly, it brings together the WHO, GDI Hub and Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) to develop, test and learn from Country Capacity Assessments. Secondly it supports countries to develop national action plans. Thirdly it funds investment to support national AT priorities in these countries. Fouthly and led by The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), this cluster is developing AT Product Narratives to inform global investment and scoping market-shaping opportunities. Lastly, to align and consolidate global AT efforts, as well as to lay the foundations for systems-level change, this cluster is providing a set of global benchmarks and standards for AT. This programme is being co-led by WHO, UNICEF, and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

Modern Slavery - Supporting Global Action to End Modern Slavery
UK - Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office
To develop new approaches to tackle modern slavery and reduce its prevalence in 3 industries (sex trafficking, migration and apparel), initially in India and Bangladesh. This programme will help victims of slavery and individuals/communities at risk of slavery through engaging with businesses and direct support to vulnerable individuals/communities. To support this work, the programme will develop measures of prevalence and produce research on the drivers of modern slavery. It will also develop and make use of new technologies and ideas to tackle modern slavery more effectively. This programme contributes toward SDG8.7 to eradicate forced labour, end modern slavery and human trafficking and secure the prohibition and elimination of the worst forms of child labour.

Global Disability Innovation Hub
Delivering AT innovations in East Africa through inclusive innovation ecosystems, AT accelerator, service delivery and wheelchair provision. Horizon scanning to scope the disability mobile gap and programmes to address stigma. 3D printing for humanitarian response and an AT Makeathon. To create an Innovation Hub India with the All Indian Institute for Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT-Delhi) and UCL will allow Indian Government funds to be leveraged to help support AT2030’s global AT aims. It is envisaged that a significant number of innovators will be supported through this investment to develop products for both the Asian and African marketplaces. The AT Impact Fund aims to facilitate the growth of the AT sector by combining grant capital with expert-led venture-building support to help AT innovators launch and scale solutions that are designed to reach populations in Africa.

Global Antibiotic Research and Development Partnership
Serious bacterial infections are a major cause of death in hospitals and healthcare settings. Bacteria can enter the body through wounds and surgery sites, ventilators and catheters, leading to pneumonia, urinary tract, abdominal and bloodstream infections. The Global Antibiotic Research and Development Partnership (GARDP) is working to develop new treatments for these serious bacterial infections, focusing on treatments for drug-resistant bacteria on the World Health Organization’s (WHO) priority pathogens list.

Global Fund For Coral Reefs (GFCR)

Coral reefs are amongst the most valuable ecosystems on earth, harbouring the highest biodiversity of any ecosystem, supporting 25% of marine life and providing a myriad of benefits to thousands of species. The Global Fund for Coral Reefs (GFCR) is a project within the Blue Planet Fund portfolio. The GFCR is the first Multi-partner Trust Fund for Sustainable Development Goal 14. It provides finance for coral reefs with particular attention on Small Island Developing States. The GFCR promotes a ‘protect-transform-restore-recover’ approach through the creation and management of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) to save and protect coral reefs in the face of serious decline and extinction. The GFCR has four main outcomes: Protect priority coral reef sites and climate change-affected refugia Transforming the livelihoods of coral reef-dependent communities Restoration and adaptation technologies Recovery of coral reef-dependent communities to major shocks
