Description

MRC AGHRB Award to design an intervention to prevent snakebite in Rwanda and Eswatini that will subsequently be evaluated, potentially using a stepped wedge cluster randomized trial

Objectives

The main objective is to undertake the work necessary to design a intervention to prevent snakebite in different settings that will subsequently be evaluated, potentially using a stepped wedge cluster randomized trial. The intervention will be co-designed with community members using a Community-Based Participatory Research approach with the goal of ensuring the intervention is scalable and sustainable. Aligned with the WHO strategy on snakebite prevention and control, this project could be an important stepping-stone in reducing snakebite-related morbidity and mortality.
