Description

A partnership with the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH) to support small grant awards for early career researchers based in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Awards will specifically support research and capacity development for LMIC researchers which will benefit patients and the public in LMICs

Objectives

The 2022 small grants scheme will: 1.) enable early career researchers and global health professionals in LMICs to undertake clinical and applied health research or fieldwork 2.) develop research and management skills of early career LMIC researchers through leading a small independent research project 3.) establish a peer cohort of awardees to increase collaboration and networking opportunities 4.) enhance future funding opportunities of LMIC early career researchers 5.) strengthen a beneficial scheme to ensure that a higher proportion of fundable applications receive funding than previous years
