Description
In response to the recommendation made by an independent evaluation of the NIHR Global Health Research (GHR) portfolio (published in August 2024) to refresh the Global Health Research (GHR) evaluation strategy. This work started in November 2024 and the Foreign Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO) Evaluation Quality Assurance and Learning Services (EQUALS) lead consultant is supporting the delivery of some aspects of this work.
Objectives
This work stream has 5 key objectives: 1. Synthesise programme Theories of Change (ToC): Identify common themes across programs to inform a portfolio ToC. 2. Develop the portfolio ToC: Create an integrated framework aligning with strategic priorities. 3. Streamline the results framework: Align the results framework with the portfolio ToC while accommodating program-specific indicators. 4. Refresh the evaluation strategy: Update the strategy to ensure relevance, efficiency, and evidence-driven decision-making. 5. Optimise resources and evidence: Deliver robust, tailored evidence to support timely decisions.
