Uganda Open Societies II: Accountability, Human Rights, Social Cohesion and Portfolio Strategic Fund.
Description
Uganda Open Societies II will strengthen the capability of a broad set of accountability mechanisms (grassroots organisations, press, and state institutions) to increase Uganda’s resilience to the erosion of democratic features in the run-up to election, support initiatives that build inter-communal cohesion to reduce the risk of political flashpoints spilling over into violence, and support state institutions’ compliance with Uganda’s human rights laws to mitigate risks of abuses in policing and military operations. The programme will work with local actors and aims to reach more than 1 million beneficiaries directly and indirectly across the focus districts.
