Risk Informed Early Action Partnership (REAP)
Description
The Risk-informed Early Action Partnership (REAP) was launched by the UK at the UN Climate Action Summit in 2019 and aims to make one billion people safer from climate-related disasters by 2025. REAP uses a unique partnership model, working through over 80 partners comprising governments, UN agencies, civil society, academia, technical working groups and a Board. This collaborative approach brings together the development, humanitarian, and climate communities to effectively scale up early warning and early action efforts. In 2023, REAP was funded under this programme as a standalone programme with a funding of up to £4m. This funding supports REAP's activities, including covering the costs of the Secretariat team and their advocacy work to build political commitment for REAP's four ambitious targets. It will also enable the implementation of Comprehensive Risk Management activities in support of REAP’s objectives.
