Support to establish an International Finance Facility for Education (IFFEd) SEED Funding
Description
This programme will provide seed funding to establish a new financing mechanism for global education – the International Finance Facility for Education (IFFEd). IFFEd will increase the supply and demand for education finance for Lower-Middle Income Countries (LMICs), through a combination of sovereign guarantees and grants, working through the Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs). This small initial programme will enable IFFEd to start operations as an independent, legal, and operational entity, ready to receive guarantees and grants, and work with partner governments and MDBs to agree substantial lending for education.
