Description

VSO Knowledge Exchange (previously ‘Corporate Volunteering Hub’) is a market-making mechanism for business skills offered on a volunteering basis to development programmes by companies. It matches demand from development programmes with corporate employee volunteers through a range of placement opportunities. It also provides a forum for collaboration and learning to maximise the impact of corporate employee volunteering. Benefits will be generated for development partners (e.g. in terms of improved programmes), corporate members (e.g. knowledge of emerging markets) and individual volunteers (e.g. challenging personal development opportunities).

Objectives

• Establishing an ‘Industry Standard’ for impactful Corporate Employee Volunteering through: - Shared evidence base - Benchmarks • Range of models tried and tested (remote, group relay, mixed groups) with learning shared • Established Community of Practice(s) amongst volunteers, Corporates and Development Partners with regular virtual events and ‘open platform’ to encourage broader membership • Programmatic focus for learning, leading enterprise, employment and tech4devt good practice • Collaborative spin outs (e.g. Syngenta social franchise) • Volunteer management, engagement and impact monitoring through mobile app (India, a technology grant from NASSCOM Foundation)
