Description

This is a National Project. The overall outcome of this project is to provide Technical Assistance to the National Curriculum Council in developing frameworks for implementation of Single National Curriculum.

Objectives

This project will provide Technical Assistance to the National Curriculum Council to develop three frameworks around curriculum, textbooks amid assessments. These frameworks will then be implemented by the National Curriculum Council in the roll-out of the Single National Curriculum.

Target Groups

Government departments (The Federal level Government body called National Curriculum Council and coordination with the four provincial government bodies (Punjab curriculum and textbook board Lahore, Directorate of Curriculum and Teacher Education, Peshawar, Sindh Education and Literacy Department Karachi, Department for Education Baluchistan)) , Teachers and educators.

First phase: • Based on the review, suggest a workable and practical strategy and guidelines for the implementation of the curriculum framework for Grades 1-12 • Carry out consultations and explore the best and the most feasible options available for textbook development with support from experts. • Based on the evidence and analysis, identify and propose relevant networks to connect Ministry of Federal Education and professional Training (MoFEPT) with UK publishers to identify further technical expertise for textbook development and/or review. Second Phase: • Suggest a Text- Book Development Framework (TBDF) by producing a set of recommendations for the government on textbook development • Suggest an assessment framework aligned with the CF and TBDF • Solicit feedback from teachers; collect teacher feedback around new frameworks and • Based on the curriculum, textbook development, and assessment frameworks, suggest set of recommendations for teacher development. • Reference alignment with FCDO funded DARE and other projects. • Conduct an analysis around the alignment of assessment, curriculum, textbooks, and teaching.
