The programme’s aim is to combat corruption and promote a better global environment for business. This will help to promote inclusive sustainable growth and increase global prosperity, benefitting partner countries, including the UK. The programme will achieve this aim through the following objectives: Dis-incentivising people from undertaking corrupt activity, Making corruption easier to detect and therefore harder to commit, Increasing the penalties and risks for those engaging in corrupt activity and recovering illegally gained assets. Meeting these objectives will help advance economic development in partner countries while creating opportunities for international and UK businesses as a secondary benefit.
