Description
The Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) was formally launched at the World Economic Forum in Davos in January 2017. It is the only international alliance with a primary focus on developing vaccines for diseases with epidemic potential. CEPI’s initial focus has been on developing vaccines against Lassa Fever, Nipah virus and Middle Eastern Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) virus.
Objectives
The aim is to fund and to support the research and development of vaccines for diseases with epidemic potential. Preparedness: - Advance access to safe and effective vaccines against emerging infectious diseases Response: - Accelerate the research, development and use of vaccines during outbreaks Sustainability: - Create durable and equitable solutions for outbreak response capacity
